Brief info

Dr. Salaudeen Oladele Hanafi is a native of Ilorin from Okutagidi compound in Pakata. He is a Public Health Physician who has acquired over 8 years of progressive experience both in Epidemiology and Public Health with focus on HIV/TB Health Programming.

He attended Unilorin Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara state between 1996-2002. He then
proceeded to the University of Ilorin where he studied Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS)
between 2003 and 2011. After his medical degree, he attended Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria
between 2017 and 2018 to pursue a Masters Degree in Disaster Management and Developmental
Studies (MDMDS). In addition to the MDMDS, he attended the Bayero University of Kano
between 2016-2019 where he obtained his Masters of Public Health (MPH).

In addition to these academic qualifications, he also acquired many professional qualifications,
including Certificate of Attendance in Quality Improvement awarded by the Institute for Human
Virology of Nigeria (IHVN); A 2-day intensive Training on Infection, Prevention, Control
Training on TB organized by the World Health Organization in collaboration with the Federal
Ministry of Health; a Seminar certificate on Strengthening TB case finding organized by KNCV,
Katsina State; Certificate in Clinical Management of HIV from University of Washington;
Certificate in Project Management from University of Washington; Certificate in Leadership Management in Health from University of Washington.

He did his NYSC at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife between 2012-2013
where he served as Casualty Officer and supported the Coordination of Accident and Emergency
activities and ensuring prompt treatment of patients. He worked as ART Clinician/Head of Clinical
Services at the General Hospital Daura, Katsina State between 2014 – 2017. He also worked as
the Clinical Manager and Senior Technical Officer in Zamfara, Gombe, and Sokoto States with
the Pathfinder International between 2017 –2020. Up to April 2021, he worked as the Senior
Technical Officer in Abuja for the Development Research and Policy centre. Presently, he is an
Integrated PHC Advisor (MNH & Family planning) for the Integrated Health project in Kebbi
State.

In addition to his experiences in managing the Global Fund project on HIV/TB in Katsina,Gombe
Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, he has acquired substantial skills in Project Management,
Health Systems Analysis, HIV/AIDS Programming, Health Policy Development. RH
Programming, Mentoring and Supportive Supervision, Communication Skills,
Training/Facilitation Skills Strategic Thinking/Organizational Awareness, Health Resource
Mobilization, and Stakeholder Management.

He is married and blessed with children.
