ENetSuD SENSITIZES UBANDAWAKI COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION ON BUDGET TRACKING

The Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), a Kwara-based Civil Society Organization reputed for its #FollowKwaraMoney activities, has taken the campaign on budget tracking to Ubandawaki Youths Development Association in Ilorin West LGA.

The sensitization program, which is a component of ENetSuD’s new project tagged “Community Enlightenment and Mobilization Program (CEMP)”, sought to key Community-Based Organizations in all the wards of the 16 LGAs in Kwara State into its budget and project tracking activities to achieve sustainability and communities’ ownership of the activities.

In the letter dated 9th January 2021 and signed by ENetSuD’s Director of Community Services (Mr. Abdulkareem Eyitayo Abubakar), which was earlier submitted to the President of the Ubandawaki Youths, ENetSuD told the Association that it has designed a sustainable plan for its projects tracking activities. “As part of the sustainable plan for our activities, we are working towards making our activities to be owned by various community associations who are the beneficiaries of the projects. To achieve this, we have decided to be sensitizing various community-based associations on budget and project tracking”, the letter said.

During the sensitization program that took place today at Oke-Ebo Primary School, members of the Association were sensitized on various government projects in their communities and charged them on how to take ownership of the projects by passionately tracking and monitoring them. ENetSuD also enlightened them on how to lobby elected and appointed political office holders in order to facilitate projects to their community, among other matters.

Members of the Association showed their appreciation to ENetSuD and prayed for its continued success in all its endeavours. They also raised concerns on some projects in the community, including the uncompleted Federal Medical Center in Ita Nmo and Interlocking Road Project along Ile Alaya – Ile Otu street, after which they were appropriately advised by ENetSuD team.

ENetSuD team that attended the program include Mr. Abdulkareem Eyitayo Abubakar (Director of Community Services); Comrade Lanre Osho (Deputy Coordinator, Projects Tracking), and Madam Fatti Bintu Dikko (Monitoring Officer, Ilorin South).
