1. TRACKING OF CONSTITURNCY PROJECTS IN KWARA STATE
A. We have written Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to ALL the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) that executed the 2017 Zonal Intervention Projects (ZIPs) in Kwara state. Particularly, the following MDAs were written by us:
i. Universal Basic Education Commission
ii. Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
iii. Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority
iv. Federal Ministry of Environment
v. Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria
vi. National Center for Agricultural Mechanisation
vii. Nigeria Film Corporation
viii. Project Development Institute (PRODA)
ix. Energy Commission of Nigeria
x. Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute
xi. Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria
B. In addition to these MDAs, we also copied all the legislators that nominated the ZIPs. This is to keep them informed of our ongoing monitoring of the projects that they nominated on our behalf as citizens of Kwara that they are representing
C. We have tracked most of the projects nominated by Federal legislators from Kwara State and execued by these MDAs. The report of our findings are available here (put link for the reports). 2. TRACKING OF ILORIN WATER RETICULATION PROJECT
We have demanded for an official information from the Kwara State Government on the multi-billion naira Ilorin Water Reticulation Project that started since more than a decade ago (read letter here). We requested the government to provide us with the following information:
i. Breakdown of the money spent and the proposed further expenses on Ilorin water reticulation project since its commencement till completion
ii. The phases of the project and the time frame for their execution (including the completed, ongoing and future phases)
iii. The particular locations in Ilorin that the project is expected to serve after its completion
iv. The exact period that the residents and indigenes of Ilorin should be expecting its completion so that they can begin to enjoy uninterrupted water supply as promised
3. MEDIA MESSGES AND ENLIGHTMENT
We have been passing #FollowKwaraMoney message on radio programs (Royal FM, Sobi FM and Albarka FM) and on our social media handles (Twitter and Facebook). This message has been sensitising people on the need to be involved in the monitoring of the projects funded by their taxes and other public funds. We have also been strongly advocating that #KwaraMoneyMustWorkForKwarans, and not for few elites and cabals
4. TRACKING OF KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT BUDGET
We are about to start the moitoring of Kwara state budget and tracking of the projects funded by the Kwara State Government.
