ILORIN WATER RETICULATION: WE SHALL ASSESS YOU AFTER 100 DAYS ——— ENetSuD TELLS ABDULRAHMAN

Kwara State Governor
Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), a Kwara-based Civil Society Organization, has reacted to the marching order given to Ministry of Water Resources by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on 3rd June 2019 to deliver constant water supply to specific areas in Ilorin within 100 days.

In the Statement signed by its Coordinator (Dr. Alagbonsi Abdullateef) and made available to Journalists, ENetSuD said it will do another survey after the expiration of 100 days ultimatum issued by the Governor, so as to know the extent to which such order has been complied with. The survey will also enable citizens to know if the water scarcity has improved in the first 100 days of the current administration”.

It will be recalled that ENetSuD had, on several occasions, challenged the out-gone administration of Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed over failure of the N6.5 billion Ilorin Water Reticulation, calling it a scam and referring it as a project that has not provided any value for taxpayers money (read: https://enetsud.org/2019/01/06/multi-billion-naira-ilorin-water-reticulation-project-waste-of-tax-payers-money-enetsud-to-kwara-govt/; also read: https://enetsud.org/2018/07/02/where-is-the-water-kwarans-ask-governor-ahmed/).

In addition to press statements on the state of Ilorin Water Reticulation project, ENetSuD had earlier conducted survey in over 30 locations in Ilorin where the out-gone government of Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed claimed to have domiciled the Water project (listen to Audio report: https://soundcloud.com/user-854744499/enetsud-investigation-on-the-value-for-n65-million-ilorin-water-reticulation-project and watch video report: https://web.facebook.com/ENetSuD/videos/1343947839078658/) and reported that there was no water in over 90% of the surveyed locations.

In a letter written to the Kwara State Transition Committee dated 23rd April, 2019, ENetSuD had also advised the administration of Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq not to commit further fund into the project (especially the tertiary phase) until proper probe into the execution of the primary and secondary phases with N6.5 Billion is done.
